The Chehalem Valley Chamber of Commerce’s Executive Director, Scott Parker, awarded all of the following superlatives.

Recognizing Outstanding Contributions

Among this year’s honorees is Dr. Paula Radich, named Volunteer of the Year for her service in education. Radich, who served as superintendent of Newberg-Dundee Public Schools for 13 years, has repeatedly stepped into leadership roles during transitional periods, most recently volunteering as interim superintendent without compensation. Her dedication to student success and educational leadership earned her this recognition.

Tim Timmerman, an art professor at George Fox University, will receive the Educator of the Year award. Known for his engaging teaching style and commitment to fostering creativity, Timmerman has influenced generations of students while actively supporting local public art projects and emerging artists.

Robin and Danny Sikkens, owners of Social Goods, have been named Business People of the Year. Their establishment has become a community hub, hosting live music, trivia nights, and fundraisers while fostering connections among local businesses and organizations. Their contributions to Newberg’s cultural and social fabric set them apart as business leaders.

The Junior Citizen of the Year award will be presented to Elise Steffen, a student leader and varsity ski team captain who has made a meaningful impact through her advocacy for mental health awareness and mentorship of young children. Steffen’s commitment to service exemplifies the values of this recognition.

Business and Community Impact

Revino, Inc., under the leadership of Keenan O’Hern, will receive the Wine Country Award for its sustainability efforts in the wine industry. Revino’s bottle reuse program has reduced waste and carbon emissions while promoting eco-friendly packaging solutions in collaboration with Oregon wineries.

Jem 100, a longtime staple in Newberg, has been named Business of the Year. Since 1979, the classic American diner has supported local events, fundraisers, and school programs while maintaining its nostalgic charm. Now under new family ownership, Jem 100 continues to be a cornerstone of the community.

Loni and Scott Parrish will be honored as Citizens of the Year for their contributions to the arts, business, and philanthropy. Loni played a key role in establishing the Chehalem Cultural Center and ART Elements Gallery, while Scott led A-dec, one of the region’s largest employers. Their support of nonprofits and education initiatives has left a lasting impact on the community’s cultural and economic vitality.
