According to a post on social media, the Newberg Public Library is seeking input to help improve its customer service.
The survey is available both online and in person. It takes less than five minutes to complete, according to the library. Participants are entered to win a $25 gift card to Chapters Books & Coffee.

Governor Kotek Declares April 2024 to be Oregon Arbor Month
Last month, Oregon Governor Tina Kotek proclaimed that April 2024 will be Oregon Arbor Month throughout the state, citing the role of trees in mitigating environmental challenges and acknowledging the significance and ongoing loss of trees from climate change and natural disasters.
“Trees play an integral role in fostering healthy communities by promoting physical and mental well-being, improving air and water quality, conserving energy, offering shade and safeguarding against the impacts of high-heat events, providing natural beauty, and nurturing a connection to the natural world,” the proclamation stated.
Governor’s proclamations are ceremonial documents issued by the Office of the Governor. The goal, according to the State of Oregon website, is to honor, celebrate, or create awareness of an event of significant issue.

Congresswoman Salinas Delivers $14 million for Community Projects
According to a press release from the desk of Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, the U.S. Representative secured just over $14 million in Community Project Funding for Oregon’s 6th District.
The funding is directed toward 15 projects, including $1.5 million to construct a highway safety median along the McKay/Yergen/Ehlen road safety corridor, construction of the Dayton Civic Center, and construction of a roundabout at the intersection of OR 99W and NE McDougall Road between Dundee and Lafayette.
“I am incredibly pleased to deliver over $14 million for important community projects in Oregon’s Sixth District,” said Rep. Salinas in the release. “From making needed improvements to our roads and water infrastructure, to expanding access to rural broadband and public transportation, these projects will tangibly improve the lives of everyone in our communities.”

Storrs Smokehouse Open Wednesday Starting April 3
Downtown barbecue restaurant Storrs Smokehouse announced they’re open weekly from Wednesday through Sunday.
“The days a sunny, weather is warmer, so we’re ready to open up again on Wednesdays,” the restaurant stated in an Instagram post. “Come on by, we’ve got all of our fixin’s ready to go starting April 3.”

Kopitos Cocina Closing Food Truck in Preparation for Restaurant
In preparation of opening their brick-and-mortar restaurant, Kopitos Cocina said they’re pausing sales out of their food truck after April’s First Friday Artwalk on April 5.
“We need to take some time off from working the food cart to focus on our last details and last inspection to officially have a date to open,” said Miriam Sangabriel in a message.
Kopitos will be open on Friday from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. They’re hosting live music from Gabe Rodriguez and serving drinks from guest bartender A.J. Martinis from 4 – 7 p.m. as part of the First Friday event.
