About the Event

Two hours of notification-free bliss, out on the grass.

The Log Off is a pop-up gathering for people who could use a breather. You check your phone at the door, find a spot on the lawn, and spend the next couple of hours doing something with your hands — a puzzle, a board game, a coloring book — with good music, wine tasting, and no agenda.

“The goal isn’t to be anti-technology. It’s just to remember what it felt like before your brain had twelve tabs open at once.”

We’re not here to lecture anyone about screen time. We’re pulling this together because, as two millenials, we know the itch to check something and the low-grade hum of being always reachable.

This time we’re taking it outside to The Allison’s Meadow Garden for a summer evening on the grass — Local DJ Spinning Web Records spinning vinyl, blankets and low chairs welcome, and light bites and wine tasting available on site. Come as you are, stay as long as you want, and leave feeling a little more like yourself.

Admission is $10 and it’s open to all ages. Light bites and drinks will be available for purchase on site.

Plenty to do.

01

Reserve your spot

Grab a ticket on Eventbrite before you come — it’s $10 per person, and it’s open to all ages. Walk-ins welcome if space allows.

02

Show up at The Allison’s Meadow Garden

Find us at 2525 Allison Lane in Newberg. Bring a blanket or a low chair for the lawn. Rain or shine — dress for the weather.

03

Check your phone

You’ll hand it off at the door — it’ll be waiting for you on the way out. If you need it for medical reasons, accessibility, or anything else, that’s completely fine. And if you need someone to reach you while you’re there, you’re always welcome to give them The Allison’s front desk at (503) 554-2525. Believe it or not, it’s how we were reachable when we went out (or our parents went out).

04

Find something to do

Grab a puzzle, pick up a coloring book, sit down at a game, or just spread out a blanket and listen to Andrew Kaye spin vinyl. There’s no wrong way to do this. Light bites and wine tasting are available for purchase on site.

05

Leave whenever

Stay for twenty minutes or the full two hours. Pick up your phone on the way out and carry on with your evening.
