NEWBERG, Ore. — The Allison Inn & Spa ranked fifth among the 10 best resorts in the American West, according to Travel + Leisure’s 2026 World’s Best Awards reader survey, published July 7.
The list, compiled from reader responses to the magazine’s annual survey, placed the Newberg property behind resorts in Idaho and Oregon’s Cannon Beach and ahead of properties in New Mexico, Washington and Alaska. The Allison was the only entry located in the Willamette Valley.
Travel + Leisure described the 35-acre property as offering vineyard views, wine tastings, walking trails, an art gallery and a full-service spa. One reader quoted in the article called it a getaway that stays close enough to Portland to remain convenient, according to the magazine.
The resort opened in 2009 and holds LEED Gold certification, according to background materials provided by the property. It includes 85 guest rooms and suites, each with a gas fireplace, private terrace and soaking tub, along with custom furnishings and locally made artwork, the materials state.
The magazine’s list also included Sunriver Resort and Brasada Ranch, both in Central Oregon, along with resorts in Idaho, New Mexico, Washington and Alaska. Tamarack Resort in Tamarack, Idaho, was ranked No. 1.
