NEWBERG, Ore. — The City of Newberg has hired Jenna Gray as its new human resources manager, the city announced June 22.

Gray started June 24, succeeding Alison Seiler, who is moving from human resources manager into a part-time, on-call role assisting the city’s administrative team at the request of the city manager, according to the city’s announcement. Seiler took over as interim HR director in January 2020 after the previous HR director’s separation from the city, according to an article published in the Newberg Graphic February 27.

Gray most recently worked as human resources manager at LaCrosse Footwear Incorporated, the parent company of Danner Boots, a position she held from February 2022 to June 2026, according to her LinkedIn profile. She served as the company’s human resources supervisor from November 2020 to February 2022, and then as the Human Resources Manager from February 2022 to June 2026.

Gray holds a bachelor of science in human resources management from Portland State University, completed in 2020, and an associate degree in business administration from Clackamas Community College. She is pursuing a master’s degree in public administration, with a specialization in human resources, through Franklin University, with an expected completion date of March 2027, according to her LinkedIn profile.

Gray earned her Senior Professional in Human Resources certification in 2025, the city said. The Portland Business Journal named her a recipient of its HR Leadership Award, according to a May 8 article in the publication.
