NEWBERG, Ore. — Firefighters extinguished an apartment complex fire around noon Friday, April 10. No injuries were reported.
According to Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue, a call about a structure fire at 907 W. Charles St. near Ewing Young Park in Newberg came in at 11:31 a.m. A total of 22 firefighting units were dispatched to the fire, which was localized to the second story of the apartment complex. By noon, the fire was contained, and crews were examining the building and mopping up.
“Crews executed an aggressive fire attack upon arrival and quickly extinguished the fire,” TVF&R posted on X. “All units were searched and no victims found.”
The agency said two occupants were present in the unit and escaped through a window, assisted by the Newberg-Dundee Police Department, before firefighting units arrived. The occupants were not injured and required no further medical attention.
The Dundee Fire Department and the Newberg-Dundee Police Department assisted with the incident. Information about the structure’s integrity or damage to other units was not available as of press time.
