Shape Newsberg’s Future with the 2025 Annual Newsberg Reader Survey

Got a few minutes? Take the Annual Newsberg Reader Survey to help Newberg know what you want out of your local news outlet.

NEWBERG, Ore. — As Newsberg heads into another year, it’s time to pause and ask an important question: How is this actually working for you, the reader?

That’s where the Annual Newsberg Reader Survey comes in!

Each year, we do a year-end reader survey that gives us a glimpse into what you like (and don’t like) about Newsberg as it currently exists. It’s a chance for you to help shape the future of Newsberg, from what we cover to how it’s delivered, and how we can better serve the community going forward.

Whether you read every story, skim the newsletter, pick up a paper, follow along on social media, or check in occasionally, your perspective matters.

The survey asks a mix of questions: how you get Newsberg, what kind of coverage you value most, how connected you feel to the community, and what formats you’d like to see next — including the possibility of future print products. There are also optional demographic questions, which help Newsberg better understand who it serves and provide anonymized, aggregate information to potential advertisers and partners.

This matters more than I can put into words. As a small, independent, neighbor-owned outlet, Newsberg does not rely on corporate backing or national media funding. Understanding our audience — who you are, what you care about, and how you engage — helps guide our editorial decisions, strengthen sustainability, and demonstrate community impact when seeking advertisers, sponsors, or grant funding.

It also helps ensure that future growth stays aligned with local needs, not outside pressures. We’re your paper, so we want to know what you want from us.

The survey takes about five to eight minutes to complete, and every response is read. You can also choose whether or not your feedback may be quoted (anonymously or with attribution) in future Newsberg materials.

If Newsberg has helped you understand a local issue, discover an event, support a business, or simply feel more connected to your community, this is a meaningful way to give back.

Thank you for reading — and for helping shape what comes next.
