The online geography resource listed Newberg alongside 11 other towns in the region, defining “adorable” as places with “natural beauty, fascinating culture, and exciting adventures.”
The article features a photo from George Fox University’s Wheeler Sports Complex and credits Newberg’s designation to its proximity to Portland and Willamette Valley wine country, as well as its access to luxury accommodations at The Allison Inn & Spa.
Other Oregon towns named in the article include Cannon Beach, Mount Hood Village, Sisters, Yachats, and Ashland.
“With so much to see and do across the Pacific Northwest, it is easy to understand why many travelers fall in love with the small towns found throughout the region,” the article states.

Survey Finds Neighbor Support for Ewing Young Park Bridge
NEWBERG, Ore. — Chehalem Park and Recreation District officials reported that most neighbors near Ewing Young Park support plans to build a bridge that would provide access to 11 acres of currently unreachable parkland.
CPRD board members Jason Fields and Jim McMaster went door-to-door to gather feedback from adjacent property owners. While some neighbors raised concerns about access, theft, and vandalism, Fields said the district more often heard support for moving the project forward.
“I was really surprised because when I went to meet these neighbors, I believed it was going to be one after the other telling us about how they did not want to have us expand this park and put this bridge in,” Fields said. “But more often, we found that people were excited about the idea of having access to this park from their own property.”
The outreach followed public open houses and an earlier disagreement with Yamhill County over the bridge approval process. CPRD officials said the district plans to continue pursuing the project based on community feedback.

CPRD Seeks Applicants for Budget Committee
NEWBERG, Ore. — Chehalem Park and Recreation District is seeking applicants to fill two vacancies on its budget committee.
According to a news release, CPRD has one opening to complete an unexpired term and a second opening for a full term. Both terms begin Jan. 22, 2026. The unexpired term runs through January 2028, while the full term runs through January 2029.
CPRD Public Information Officer Kat Ricker said budget committee members typically meet a handful of days per year.
