From now through March 31, residents can nominate their favorite businesses, organizations, and experiences across a variety of categories, ranging from dining and retail to professional services and community organizations.
After the nomination phase closes, the top five nominees will transition into the voting round, running from April 1 to April 15. During this time, the top nominees in each category will compete for the title of Newberg’s Favorite for 2025.
Here’s what we love about the Newberg’s Favorites contest: It is entirely community-driven. The results do not serve as a formal evaluation of quality but instead reflect the deep connections between local businesses and the people they serve.
This is about celebrating the places that make Newberg feel like home. It’s a way for the community to show appreciation for the businesses, organizations, and experiences that bring our town together.
Once the votes are counted, Newsberg will announce the winners, giving well-earned recognition to the businesses and organizations that have built strong ties within the community. The full list of Newberg’s Favorites for 2025 will be published online, highlighting the local businesses that residents value most.
To help bring the competition to life, local graphic designer Emily Salsbury created the official branding and visual elements. Her unique designs highlight different aspects of our town, utilizing a focused color palette and sweet, nostalgic scenes that paint this contest in a beautiful light.
To ensure fairness, voters will be required to sign in using their email, which serves only to prevent multiple votes from a single user. While signing in, participants will also have the option to subscribe to the Newsberg Weekly Email, which is the best way to stay informed about local news, events, and updates.
Participating is simple—nominations and voting take place online at Newberg’s Favorites 2025. Whether it’s a go-to coffee shop, a trusted service provider, or a favorite nonprofit, this is the opportunity to ensure the businesses that make a difference get the recognition they deserve. It’s not cost to nominate or vote.
Local businesses and organizations also have the opportunity to sponsor this contest, not only increasing their odds of winning, but also helping Newsberg cover the costs associated with preparing, promoting, and designing Newberg’s Favorites 2025. Businesses interested in sponsoring groups or categories can click on the Newsberg sponsored ad on the page they’d like to sponsor, or contact Newsberg to get started.
And with that, nominations are open now, so cast yours before the deadline and help decide Newberg’s Favorites for 2025!
