Growler Girl Beer Trailer, owned by Casey Wise, began serving customers on March 1, offering 10 taps featuring a variety of craft beverages as well as a collection of non-alcoholic and alternative beverages.
“It was an idea during COVID that never fully came to fruition,” said Wise. “It was sitting around for a bit, and it felt like a great time to get rolling.”
Wise previously worked as the manager of The Growler Guys SE Waterfront location and the company’s Director of Operations before she caught the entrepreneurial spirit and decided to branch out on her own.
The trailer features eight beer taps, one cider tap, and a seltzer, along with canned options including specialty beer, wine, kombucha, cold brew, craft root beer, and cream soda.
Wise discovered the Bite of Newberg location after researching food cart pods throughout the region. Many Portland-area food cart pods already have established beverage options, prompting her to expand her search.
“I came down to try some of the food to see if I thought it would be a good fit,” Wise explains. “After trying the food, I knew that’s where I wanted to be.”
Customers can enjoy pints at the Bite of Newberg, or fill 32-ounce can growlers, also called crowlers, to go. Prices may vary slightly depending on the specific beverage, Wise said. The rotating taplist will be updated on the Growler Girl website.
The beer trailer operates from noon to 7 p.m. daily, though Wise indicates she may adjust hours based on the schedules of neighboring food carts and foot traffic.
“I’m really excited to be in the community and to get to know the customers,” Wise says. “I think Newberg has a lot of potential, and I hope that with the addition of the beer trailer, the other businesses will succeed even more.”
