Newberg Notices September 26

Crowing Hen Brewing up for sale, Diaper fundraiser for A Family Place at local banks, a law office opens in Newberg, and it’s George Fox’s homecoming weekend!

Crowing Hen Brewery up for Sale

According to Redfin, an online real estate resource, the property at 10280 NE Abbey Rd. in Carlton, Ore. is listed for sale. Most notably at that address: Crowing Hen Brewing.

The property boasts 67 acres, 15 of which are covered by a hop farm with eight different varietals. On top of the tasting room that’s open to the public, Crowing Hen has a guest studio apartment (with full bathroom and kitchenette), a four-bedroom two-bathroom main residence, and more build sites should the next owner want to build a “custom dream home,” according to the listing.

Crowing Hen has not returned calls for comment (it was a tight turn around from Newsberg finding this story to publishing — more to come soon).

Yamhill County Banks Hope to Collect 30,000 Diapers to Benefit A Family Place Diaper Banks

Across Yamhill County, seven local banks are stepping up to help families in Yamhill County struggling with diaper need by participating in the “Banks for the Bank Diaper Drive” beginning September 25th and running through October 13th.

The goal is to collect 30,000 diapers to keep A Family Place Diaper
Banks stocked and running through the end of the year.

“A Family Place is the only source for free emergency diapers for Yamhill County families and our supplies are running low,” said Ann Stevenson, Diaper Bank Coordinator. “We really need this help and are so grateful for the banks and community leaders who are participating in Banks for the Bank this year.

According to the press release, all donations are welcome. However, they have a particular need for baby wipes as well as size four, five, and six diapers (not pull ups).

Participating banks include First Federal, OnPoint Community Credit Union, Key Bank, Umpqua Bank, Citizens Bank, Chase Bank and First Community Credit Union. Donations can be made in-person at any of these bank branches in Newberg and McMinnville, or by donating directly through the A Family Place Amazon Wishlist.
