“I’m thrilled that Shannon has agreed to take on the role,” Rogers said in a press release from NHFH. “She is a wonderfully talented, caring, and dedicated leader who will guide this organization to future success.”
Eoff said she is humbled and honored to receive the endorsement and position from Rogers.
“His are big shoes to fill, and no one will ever be able to fully replace him,” Eoff said in a press release from NHFH. “However, I know that the skills and talents exhibited by our staff and volunteers, coupled with Rick’s respected legacy of established community relationships, will enable our organization to continue providing homes for families in need.”
According to the release, Eoff is a longtime resident of Newberg and has been a business owner, community volunteer, and musician. She formerly owned Chehalem Property Management and served as the Bands Coordinator and Co-Chair of Tunes on Tuesday in 2022. She has also been a member of various local city committees and has served on the NHFH board of directors since 2018.
The press release states, “Newberg Habitat for Humanity has built, renovated, recycled, or repaired over 130 homes in Newberg, Dayton, Dundee, St. Paul, and Sherwood since its founding in 1995.” The next project, according to the release, is expected to start in the very near future on North College Street in Newberg.
NHFH is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a worldwide nonprofit home builder working in all 50 states and 70 countries. Beneficiaries of Habitat for Humanity homes contribute 500 hours of work and pay an affordable mortgage as part of the partnership.
Volunteer with Newberg Habitat for Humanity
Newberg Habitat for Humanity is always looking for volunteer support at the Re-Store or on a build project.
The Re-Store, located on N Meridian Street in Newberg, is a nonprofit furniture, home goods, and home improvement store. Community members can purchase or donate anything from appliances to furniture to tools at the Re-Store. The donated items must be usable, free from major cosmetic damage, and in good working condition, according to their website.
The next build project at 717 N College St. in Newberg will require volunteers when it starts around September, according to Eoff.
To volunteer at either the Re-Store or the build project, email NHFH or call (503) 537-9938.
